Within the public-private partnership project of the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) and the Austrian hearing implant manufacturer MED-EL an audiology laboratory for the audiology and speech language pathology university degree course at Proyash Institute in Dhaka was inaugurated. Some outstanding guests honoured the ceremony with their presence, including the Austrian commercial counselor Hans-Jörg Hörtnagl.
In the course of this memorable event the brand new sound proof audiology laboratory of the institute was equipped with 4 audiological test devices. The valuable and much needed equipment was handed over to the principal of The Proyash Institute, Colonel Sikder.
After the official part a training was organized for the ASLP students. World-renowned international experts: Prof. Artur Lorens from the World Hearing Center in Poland and
Prof Ranjith Rajeswaran from Madras ENT Research Foundation - Institute of Speech and Hearing, India – were specially invited to demonstrate the most effective ways of operating the devices.
These well-thought procedures are meant to assure that the devices donated to the Proyash Institute will guarantee a proper technical education of the students for this and next generations.
