VA TECH WABAG - Guheshwori WWTP inaugurated by Prime Minister of Nepal
AN IMPORTANT MILESTONE TOWARDS REVIVING THE GLORY OF THE HOLY BAGMATI RIVER

Continuing its execution excellence, WABAG achieved another successful milestone in the challenging terrains of Nepal. The Hon’ble Prime Minister of Nepal Shree Sher Bahadur Deuba inaugurated the WABAG built 32.4 MLD Guheshwori Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) in Kathmandu, an important milestone towards reviving the glory of the holy Bagmati River.
With state-of-the-art technologies like Activated Sludge Process, Wastewater Filtration, Disinfection by Electrochlorination, Anaerobic Sludge Digestion & Odour Control System, the WWTP will ensure treatment and safe discharge of treated wastewater into the Bagmati River and produce green energy from biogas.
Co-financed by Asian Development Bank (ADB) and under the auspices of Project Implementation Directorate (PID), Kathmandu Upatayaka Khanepani Limited (KUKL), the WWTP will provide a new lease of life to the holy Bagmati River and will ensure a safe & healthy environment for over 300,000 people.
