European Football Championship: Austria wins over the Netherlands

For weeks now, the European Football Championship has been creating football fever in the Netherlands and keeping Europe under its spell. Those in the Netherlands, nearly 5,500 Austrians, were most looking forward to the match against the Netherlands.

Especially for this football match, ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA Benelux, the commercial department of the Austrian embassy, organised a social event on 25 June 2024 together with Österreich Werbung, the Austrian Tourist Board in the Netherlands.

While the teams competed against each other on the field, the Public Viewing at the Carlton Ambassador Hotel focused on conviviality. More than 100 guests accepted the invitation and many came suitably dressed in orange colours, red and white or wearing traditional Austrian costumes. It was the perfect opportunity to network and make new contacts with business & tourism representatives, journalists and influencers from the Netherlands.

Upper Austria Tourism was involved as a partner and spoilt the football fans with sweet and savoury Austrian delicacies during the event. They also provided an attractive grand prize for the match: a weekend in Upper Austria.

Although the Dutch Oranje fans were a little disappointed, they congratulated the fans of the Austrian football team on their well-deserved victory.
