On 18 March 2024, accompanied by Mrs Virginia Grögl, MBA, international business students from the Austrian University of Applied Sciences Wiener Neustadt enjoyed a study trip to the Netherlands to visit a variety of companies in different industries. This study tour, which is part of their master's degree programme, aims to give the students a unique insight into doing business in another country - challenges, opportunities and a glimpse into the future.
The University of Applied Sciences Wiener Neustadt offers 37 programmes in the faculties of Business, Engineering, Health, Safety and Sport on four campuses. With over 4,000 students, 1,500 staff and lecturers, as well as an excellent network of academic and business partners, the university is ranked as one of the top Universities of Applied Sciences in the country. o.a.
The study trip also included a visit to the ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA office in The Hague. Here, the international students were welcomed by Commercial Councillor Michael Spalek, who informed them through a presentation about ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA's work and how it supports Austrian firms with doing business in the Netherlands. The students were also given an impression of the economic situation of the BENELUX countries and how this market of the three countries operates, highlighting the logistical innovations in the Netherlands that make this possible.
The Commercial Councillor leads both the Hague and Brussels offices, the latter being also responsible for the Luxembourg office and is therefore able to clearly illustrate the cultural differences between the three countries, which was clearly quite interesting for the international students.
Ms Melanie Vogel, an Austrian bachelor student Business Consultancy International, gave a presentation about the Österreich Werbung / Austrian National Tourist Office in The Hague, where she is currently an intern.
It had been a very successful morning and the students could look back on an interesting and informative morning.
