The University of Applied Sciences Wiener Neustadt offers 37 programmes in the faculties of Business, Engineering, Health, Safety and Sport on four campuses. With over 4,000 students, 1,500 staff and lecturers, as well as an excellent network of academic and business partners, the university is ranked as one of the top Universities of Applied Sciences in the country.
Besides visiting selected companies, the University of Utrecht and the Port of Rotterdam, a visit was also paid to the ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA office in The Hague. Here, the international students were welcomed by Commercial Councillor Michael Spalek, who informed them through a one-hour presentation about ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA's work and how it supports Austrian firms with doing business in the Netherlands.
The students were also given an impression of the economic situation of the BENELUX countries and how this market of the three countries operates, highlighting the logistical innovations in the Netherlands that make this possible.

Commercial Councillor Spalek gave a personal touch to his presentation by sharing his own experiences in his function with the students present. Leading both the Hague and Brussels offices, the latter being also responsible for the Luxembourg office, he is in a good position to clearly illustrate the cultural differences between the three countries, which was clearly quite interesting for the international students.
After answering a broad range of questions from the eager students, both they and also the Commercial Councillor could look back on a successful and informative morning.
