ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA has been asking branches of Austrian companies all round the world about the state of the local economy and the results of this year’s Global Business Barometers are in. Over 13,000 branches in a total of 76 countries took part and, for the first time, the study has been scientifically supervised by the Institute for International Business at Vienna University of Economics and Business.
Despite a host of global challenges, participants continued to consider the outlook for business conditions in a wide range of countries to be stable, and the same held true for the performance of key business figures, with only a very few firms anticipating a downturn.
The availability of labour is viewed as challenging, however.
Forecasts varied widely by region, with Asia proving to have the most positive outlook.
