The survey conducted among Austrian subsidiaries in Ukraine showed us the main changes and challenges for the previous year and expectations for 2025. Majority of Austrian subsidiaries in Ukraine are primarily involved in sales and service provision, with a significant percentage also engaged in local production.
- Current challenges
The war remains the predominant geopolitical risk for Austrian subsidiaries in Ukraine.
Significant concerns include political stability, economic policy predictability, bureaucracy, legal certainty, labor law.
- Motivation for workers
Labor shortage is the serious problem for businesses. The companies retain and motivate their workers through flexible working hours. Other significant measures include training and development programs, performance bonuses and incentives and career development.
- Effective support measures on site
Involvement of local interest groups is seen as the most effective measure to enforce company interests, followed by active information and discussions with local political/regulatory decision-makers and involvement of ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA.
- Sustainable Development
Most of respondents rated the importance of sustainability as high or very high, reflecting a strong commitment to sustainable practices. This highlights the growing recognition of sustainability as a critical factor in business strategy and operations.
- Future Expectations
Companies are cautious about the future, with many expecting stability rather than growth. This displays the need for continued adaptation and strategic planning to navigate the evolving business landscape.
