From June 1 to 3, 2022, ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA Almaty organized exciting expert lectures, themed workshops and networking events during the international flagship event AUSTRIA CONNECT Central Asia. More than 120 participants from Austria, Central Asia, Russian Federation, Turkey and the Caucasus region discussed the current market and economic developments and were informed about the diverse business opportunities in Uzbekistan and Central Asia. A networking cocktail on June 1 marked the kick-off of the event in Tashkent, which was themed "Rising Star Uzbekistan: New Opportunities Along the Silk Road".
On June 2, during a gala dinner, the coveted Silk Road Biz Award 2022 was presented to the Austrian companies MED-EL and VCE Vienna Consulting Engineers ZT for their outstanding performance in the medical and infrastructure sectors in Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan respectively.
The event was concluded with an excursion and sightseeing tour on June 3, during which the participants were able to get an idea of the developments in Uzbekistan's capital and dive deeper into the rich Uzbek culture.
From May 31 to June 1, nearly 50 company representatives took part in the trade mission to Uzbekistan in the run-up to AUSTRIA CONNECT , during which ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA Almaty organized over 300 tailor-made meetings with local companies and authorities.
