The European Brand Institute (EBI) has carried out its 17th Austrian brand value study to identify the most valuable brand corporations in the country. Having notched up record growth of 10%, the ten most valuable Austrian brands have a total worth in excess of EUR 34 billion.
For the first time, the study also investigated the contribution made by public service companies and organisations to sustainable development within Austria, and the winners in the five categories were, respectively, the Austrian Federal Railways (Transport), Austrian Power Grid (Utilities Infrastructure), Wien Energie (Energy Providers), Erste Bank (Finance) and the Red Cross (Healthcare and Social Services Infrastructure).
The energy drink giant Red Bull retains its undisputed crown as the most valuable Austrian brand corporation, with a brand value of more than EUR 15 billion, representing an increase of 14.6% in brand value for the global market leader in stimulant drinks. Novomatic, Europe’s largest high-tech gaming technology group (with a market value in excess of EUR 3.5 billion) climbed the table to take the runners-up title, while luxury goods group Swarovski took third place.
The Austrian brand value study identifies corporate brands that are more than 45% Austrian-owned and assesses their brand values against an international yardstick. The analysis is carried out among more than 180 brand corporations and the top ten are then published.
