AUSTRIAN KNOWLEDGE WITH LOCAL COLLABORATION
The 27th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change – COP27 – will build on the outcomes of COP26 to deliver action on an array of issues critical to tackling the climate emergency – from urgently reducing greenhouse gas emissions, building resilience, and adapting to the inevitable impacts of climate change, to delivering on the commitments to finance climate action in developing countries.
The construction business is one of the most resource-intensive sectors, and buildings account for approximately one third of global greenhouse gas emissions. Austria is a leader in sustainable building technologies and played a key role in the development of the first passive houses. Considerable know-how and international collaboration in sustainable construction will be needed in the coming years. With the need to reduce CO2 emissions, climate- conscious planning and building are becoming increasingly important.
Join the Austrian Consul and Trade Commissioner in Canada, Mr. Gregor Postl, in conversation with industry experts as they explore what Austria does to encourage transition to environmentally friendly building, as nations are striving to meet critical climate goals.
