Topic: Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) Forum 2: From Synapse to Market: BCI Industry & Ecosystem (Co-organized by Basic and Translational Neuromodulation Branch, Chinese Neuroscience Society)
SOMAREALITY specializes in developing algorithms based on eye-tracking data, revolutionizing the understanding and real-time monitoring of cognitive processes. This is enabled by a proprietary method that filters neural activity from environmental effects such as brightness. The technology has applications across UI/UX design, automotive cockpit research, aircraft interface optimization, advertising effectiveness analysis, and XR immersive experience design. In the healthcare sector, eye-tracking data can support the early detection and monitoring of neurological and cognitive conditions, including Alzheimer's disease, dementia, Parkinson's disease, and autism.
Prof. Dr. Eva Rohde, MD, will lead the LBI NVPM program on Medical Science Liaison and Open Innovation in Science. She heads the Clinical Department of Transfusion Medicine at University Hospital Salzburg and directs Europe’s first academic pharmaceutical manufacturing unit for stem cell and extracellular vesicle (EV)-based therapeutics. Her research at PMU Salzburg focuses on translating stem cell and EV-based therapies into clinical applications. Prof. Rohde collaborates closely with international academic and industry partners and serves in leading roles within ISEV and ISCT, supporting the clinical and regulatory advancement of EV-based therapeutics.
