Mongolia | Business Delegation to Ulaanbaatar
Following the official state visit by President Alexander Van der Bellen and his delegation in May 2025, there is strong goodwill and growing interest in Mongolia in expanding cooperation with Austria. During the visit, agreements were signed on Austrian financing for infrastructure projects in the healthcare sector, as well as on cooperation in the mining industry.
Further business opportunities exist in railway construction, the energy sector (including renewable energy generation and energy storage), agriculture and the food industry, as well as tourism (particularly infrastructure development and expertise).
The next meeting of the Austria–Mongolia Joint Economic Commission will take place in Ulaanbaatar from June 15 to 17, 2026. This provides an official platform for Austrian companies to present their interests and projects. The Austrian delegation will be led by Group Leader Ms. Elisabeth Weissenböck of the Federal Ministry for Economy, Energy and Tourism.
This business delegation is being organized by ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA Beijing in cooperation with the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MNCCI) and EuroChamber Mongolia. The program, which is currently being finalized, will include meetings in Ulaanbaatar from the afternoon of Monday, June 15, through Wednesday, June 17. Planned activities include an Austrian–Mongolian Economic Forum, as well as meetings and briefings at key ministries (such as Economy, Finance, and Mining) and financial institutions. ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA Beijing will also assist in arranging individual business meetings outside the official program.
