AT&S and Shanghai University have agreed on a strategic cooperation

Under the agreement, both parties will set up a digital transformation innovation centre and collaborate on a range of academic and educational programs targeting digitalization and smart manufacturing. Both sides will benefit from the advantages of the other, such as talents and expertise in digital technologies of the university and long-standing interconnected solutions and commercialization expertise of the company.

In 2020, AT&S and Shanghai University initiated another successful joint project - Automated Visual Inspection (AVI). The joint project applied AI technology into the visual inspection process. This application saves 20% labours while increasing work efficiency and productivity.

AT&S is one of the largest and most successful suppliers of advanced interconnect technologies with 12,000 employees worldwide. The company spends roughly 10% of its annual revenues on R&D, with the main-focus on digitalization and ecological optimization. For years, AT&S has been cooperated with top global universities and research institutes and develops value-added innovative solutions with scientists and experts from all over the world.

AT&S has been present in China with production facilities in Shanghai since 2001 and in Chongqing since 2011. The plant in Shanghai specializes in the production of HDIs for mobile devices and automotive applications, while the IC substrate plant in Chongqing is the first high-end substrate manufacturer in China.
