Latest Austrian Federal Economic Chamber Economic Barometer indicates that Austria’s economy is gradually stabilizing after a prolonged period of economic weakness. Based on responses from more than 4,300 companies, business sentiment has improved, particularly regarding order volumes, turnover and capacity utilisation.

Companies expect demand to recover gradually over the coming months, while revenue expectations have turned clearly positive. Employment prospects have also improved significantly, pointing to a potential turnaround in labour market sentiment.

Large companies and manufacturing businesses are among the most optimistic sectors surveyed. At the same time, investment intentions remain cautious, reflecting ongoing uncertainty and challenging framework conditions.

Overall, the survey points to growing confidence among Austrian businesses and suggests that the economic recovery is becoming more firmly established, although challenges such as labour costs, bureaucracy and energy prices continue to weigh on competitiveness.
