On December 5, Valerie Breitenfeld, Deputy Head of Advantage Austria Beijing, participated in the Austria Investment Environment Promotion Conference in cooperation with the China Overseas Development Association (CODA). Ms. Wu Shanshan, Chief Representative for China of the Austrian Business Agency (ABA), and Ms. Zhang Xiaojun, Regional Manager Asia, International Business of the Vienna Business Agency (VBA), were also invited to present Austria’s and Vienna’s business environment and investment policies. In total, around 30 Chinese companies and institutions participated both online and onsite.
During the conference, the Austrian representatives introduced Austria’s investment environment, industrial strengths, governmental support for start-ups, and opportunities for cooperation in key sectors such as automotive, life sciences, pharmaceuticals, advanced manufacturing, and green energy.
The Q&A session was very lively. CODA member companies expressed strong interest in Austria, especially in Austria´s green energy sector, raising many in-depth and technical questions on photovoltaic technologies, energy storage, and project implementation. Their active engagement reflected the growing enthusiasm among Chinese companies to explore investment opportunities in Austria.
The event successfully strengthened the dialogue between Austria and China, further deepening the bilateral economic cooperation. Austria will continue to work closely with China to support companies exploring new opportunities and fostering mutually beneficial collaboration.
