Congratulations to the Hong Kong winner of Energy Globe Award

Hong Kong: The Austrian Consulate General and ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA Hong Kong honored on November 10. the winner of the Energy Globe Award Hong Kong 2021 at a forum titled “Austria and Hong Kong join forces to foster sustainability” organized in partnership with Hong Kong’s Business Environment Council. The award has been given annually since 2000 to highlight solutions that protect the environment while promoting harmonious and productive cooperation between the business community and consumers.

Raymond IP, deputy head of the Sustainable Lantau Office at Hong Kong’s Civil Engineering and Development Department, and his team received this year’s Energy Globe Award for Hong Kong from Austrian Consul General Karl ERNST for the “Engagement Programme with the Public under the Tung Chung New Town Extension Project”. The Sustainable Lantau Office had launched in 2012 an engagement project to get the public involved in the planning as well as the development of sustainable measures for the new town extension on Lantau Island. The land reclamation itself included the adoption of new technologies. Ip was deeply honored to receive the prestigious award and especially thanked his team and the volunteers.

Along with ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA, the Energy Globe Award is sponsored by the UNIDO, the Global Chamber Platform, Austria’s Federal Ministry for Climate Action, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology, Amiblu and the Club of Rome.
