From April 22 to 28, 2024, six Austrian AI startups with their sights set on Asian expansion participated in the GIN GO HONG KONG acceleration program. This immersive week-long event was packed with targeted briefings, interactive workshops, and personalized mentoring sessions designed to equip these innovators with in-depth knowledge of the Hong Kong, Greater Bay Area, and broader Asian markets.
The participating startups engaged in business meetings with corporates, investors, and potential clients to test the Asian market readiness of their cutting-edge solutions. A standout event, the "Austrian Startup Night," was scheduled for the evening of April 25, where these entrepreneurs showcased their products and services, aiming to captivate potential investors and partners with their visionary pitches.
The program included a one-day breakout session in Shenzhen, offering an even deeper dive into the region's vibrant tech ecosystem.
The participating startups included:
- CityRiddler - Personalized and AI-based city adventures as your personal assistant.
- InFraRed City - Platform for intelligent and resilient urban design based on Artificial Intelligence.
- medaia - SkinScreener, a fully visual AI-based app for early detection of skin cancer.
- mlxar - Atlas, an AI creative virtual world-builder and 3D asset generator.
- Pinpoll - SaaS for digital publishers of any size and around the globe.
- Geosaic - Digital tools to automate the conventional way of interpreting geophysical and geological data.

The programme was organized by ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA Hong Kong, ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA Guangzhou and the Global Incubator Network Austria (GIN) in partnership with various partners in the region including the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, InvestHK, the law firm Ravenscroft & Schmierer, the accelerator BRINC and WHub.
