The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) is one of the largest metropolitan areas in the world and represents one of China's most important economic engines. The aim is to create economic and location-related synergies between Hong Kong, Macao and nine cities in China's economically strongest province, Guangdong.
Often referred to as the Silicon Valley of Asia, the GBA is characterised above all by the density of local technology companies and their innovative strength. The numerous well-known companies in the region include tech giants Huawei, Tencent, DJI, BYD and ZTE, as well as an increasing number of young tech companies that are working intensively on future topics.
In the run-up to and in coordination with the AUSTRIA CONNECT China 2024 conference, the largest networking event of the Austrian economy in China, which will take place in Hong Kong from 24.10. - 26.10.2024, the ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA Guangzhou is planning to take interested companies to this high-tech region as part of a delegation trip from 21.10. - 24.10.2024. Take the opportunity to find out first-hand about the state of the South China technology landscape in areas such as drones & air taxis, autonomous driving and the use of artificial intelligence and biotechnology.
