Founded and organised by the independent Austrian Energy Globe Foundation, the Energy Globe Award is the world's most prestigious environmental award, recognising environmental projects around the globe that have made outstanding contributions to environmental protection and sustainable development. The Award is also supported by a wide range of organisations including the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation, the Austrian Federal Chamber of Commerce, and many others. More than 180 countries have applied for the Award. And this year there were reportedly more than 1,000 applications! The Award jury selects one winning project from each country and then will select the final global award winners among the national award winners.
After months of collecting and reviewing applications, this year's Energy Globe Award National Prizes have finally been announced. The Yancheng Net Zero Carbon Intelligent Campus project, jointly built by Huawei and State Grid, has been selected as the winner of this year's Energy Globe Award of China!
The jury concluded that the project adheres to five core values - net-zero carbon energy supply, multi-energy synergy, optimal energy efficiency, digital empowerment, and cross-border innovation - integrating renewable energy, centralised and distributed energy systems, hydrogen energy and energy storage. The project adopts a three-dimensional approach, combining artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things and cloud computing to address the challenges of energy, carbon emissions and digital integration to achieve sustainable and intelligent operations, and serves as a global model for carbon neutrality and sustainable development.
