The Chinese delegation consists of the International Cooperation Division of the National Forestry and Grasslands Bureau, together with the Ecological Conservation and Restoration Division, the Forest Resources Management Division, the Natural Conservation Area Management Division and the Personnel Division. The Austrian delegation was led by Gerhard Gruber, Director of the Forest Policy Economic and Information Division, and representatives of the Commercial Section of the Austrian Embassy in China participated in the meeting.

The meeting reviewed the forest policies and work progress of the two countries, and exchanged topics such as sustainable forest management, management of natural protected areas, forest disaster prevention and control, and forestry talent development. The two sides agreed to strengthen communication and deepen cooperation in the fields of forestry machinery, wood processing, national park twinning, and vocational skills training.

From September 9 to 11, the Austrian delegation visited then the Da Hinggan Mountains to learn about China's ecological restoration, wood utilization and wood structure building.

In 1994, the forestry authorities of China and Austria signed a memorandum of cooperation, and in 2010, the China-Austria Forestry Working Group meeting mechanism was established. To date, six working groups have met, and extensive exchanges and cooperation have been carried out in the fields of forestry policy, forest machinery technology, afforestation practices, and vocational training.
