With China’s ambitious goal of becoming CO2 neutral in 2060 and the building sector still being one of the biggest energy consumers and CO2 emitters, there is an enormous potential to upgrade the energy efficiency of existing buildings and use more sustainable constructions methods in the future. Austrian know-how and technologies in the field of green building are recognized worldwide - from wooden constructions, prefabricated components, sustainable building materials to passive houses. Providing ample opportunities for collaboration to make the building sector in China greener.
Therefore, ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA Beijing organized a trade mission to discover business opportunities in the green building sector in Changzhou and Qingdao. 6 companies followed the invitation and visited the Changzhou Wujin Green Building Industry Cluster Demonstration Zone and the Sino-German Eco Park in Qingdao, where a whole quarter is already designed as passive houses. The program included meetings with government officials and relevant company representatives, as well as on-site visits of pilot projects of timber constructions and passive houses. During the B2B matchmaking sessions, the companies could exchange extensively with potential partners.
