OUR SERVICES
The Austrian Trade Commission in Hong Kong is part of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber and ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA - Austria’s official trade promotion organization.
Since the establishment of the Hong Kong office in 1961, Austrian Trade Commissioners and their teams have been supporting and representing Austrian businesses in the region.
We provide a broad range of intelligence and business development services for Austrian companies and their international business partners. We organize B2B events, carry out market research and mediate as honest brokers. Breaking down market barriers and supporting and promoting Austrian companies and their products, technologies and solutions in the region is our mission.
China is a rising economic power and an important trade partner for Austria. Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area are the super-connecting gateway and are used for over 30% of all Austrian exports. Over 150 Austrian companies and some 500 fellow Austrians have settled at the fragrant harbour. ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA raises our red-white-red banner for Austrian firms in Hong Kong and Macao to scout, identify, facilitate, encourage, and support business.
In Hong Kong, we closely cooperate with our partner organizations:
Austrian Consulate General Hong Kong | The official diplomatic representation of the Republic of Austria offers services for Austrian citizens (issuance of documents like passports and IDs) as well as other consular services such as legalization of documents, amongst others.
AustroCham | The association serves as a networking platform for the Austrian community in Hong Kong & Macau and organizes regular social networking events like the monthly Austrian Stammtisch, the Austrian Heurigen and many others.
Geographic coverage
Reflecting Hong Kong’s role as trade hub and gateway to the region, the Austrian Trade Commission’s geographical catchment area has always extended beyond the territory. Today, it covers the special administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macau.

Jennifer VEIGEL

Consul - Commercial Affairs and Austrian Trade Commissioner for Hong Kong and Macau.
Jennifer Veigel serves as the Austrian Trade Commissioner and Head of the ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA Hong Kong team since August 2023. In her 15 years of career at ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA prior to this role, she held deputy trade commissioner posts in Singapore, Shanghai, and Chicago and worked in corporate communication at the organization’s headquarter in Vienna from 2019-2023. She holds a Master's degree in "Export-Oriented Management EU-ASEAN-NAFTA" from the IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems, in Austria.
