1^st Biomass conference in Greece and B2B meetings with Greek companies

When: Monday, May 13 to Thursday, May 16, 2024

The Minister of Environment and Energy has just signed a new decision concerning the utilization of biomass. According to the decision, forestry biomass produced during forest management activities can be used for the production of timber and timber products as well as for energy generation, through electronic auctions.

Apart from this, the Minister has presented the reform about the integrated management of Greece´s forest ecosystems, which includes among others Subsidization of the extraction of certified forest biomass, the updated of management studies as well as the creation of a carbon credits system. Those are areas in which Austria has a particular high expertise.

In order to make use of this opportunity, ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA in Athens, in cooperation with the Austrian Biomass Association and the Hellenic Biomass Association, is organizing a business mission from May 13^th to 16^th 2024 on the topic of “Biomass and Forestry”.

During the event, Austrian companies will meet with Greek companies operating in the field of biomass utilization, representatives from the Ministry of Environment & Energy, forestry services, members of the scientific community specializing in forestry and bioenergy, and sustainability certification consultants for biomass.

The aim of this event is to inform Austrian companies about the Greek market, providing them with the opportunity to showcase their products, technologies, and services to a target audience comprising decision-makers from the public and private energy, biomass, and forestry sectors, and to conduct B2B meetings with potential business partners and customers during the conference.
