Austria on Economic Mission to India | New Delhi

A high-level Austrian delegation led by Austrian Chancellor H.E. Christian Stocker, Federal Minister for Economy, Energy and Tourism H.E. Wolfgang Hattmannsdorfer, and Vice President of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber Wolfgang Hesoun, accompanied by an eminent business delegation, recently concluded a significant visit to Delhi from 15th to 18th April 2026, underlining India’s growing strategic importance as a trusted partner for innovation, industry, and sustainable economic growth.

The delegation engaged with several leading institutions and industry stakeholders, including Invest India, the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), the Observer Research Foundation (ORF), TERI – The Energy and Resources Institute, Delhi State Industrial & Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC), Paytm, and ANDRITZ HYDRO Pvt. Ltd.

These engagements highlighted India’s rapid transformation into a global hub for innovation, digitalisation, renewable energy, and industrial growth. The discussions also opened avenues for enhanced Indo-Austrian cooperation in areas such as green technologies, smart manufacturing, sustainable urban development, and energy transition. With its strong institutional framework, dynamic business ecosystem, and expanding infrastructure capabilities, Delhi continues to play a pivotal role in facilitating international partnerships and driving economic collaboration.
