K-ECO RECEIVES THE NATIONAL ENERGY GLOBE AWARD 2023
Every year the Energy Globe Award honors outstanding pioneers in the field of sustainability. This year's national winner for the Republic of Korea is the Korea Environment Corporation (K-eco) for the project “CleanSYS”, an ICT-based real-time air pollutant management system for business sites.

The award was handed over to Mr. Ahn Byung-ok, chairman and CEO of Korea Environment Corporation (K-eco), by the Austrian Trade Commissioner, Mr. Wolfgang Köstinger during a ceremony held on the occasion of an official visit to K-Eco's premises in Incheon. The "Energy Globe, World Award for Sustainability", which has been held annually since 2000, is the world's most important environmental award with over 180 participating countries and a total of over 30,000 environmental projects submitted each year. The Energy Globe Award is organized by the Energy Globe Foundation, a non-profit organization with the aim to put a spotlight on sustainable projects from around the world and foster global cooperation. The Korea Environment Corporation (K-eco) was chosen as the National Energy Globe Winner of the Republic of Korea in 2023 for the project “CleanSYS”, which employs information and communications technology (ICT) to continuously measure air pollutant data through automated devices and control centers, revolutionizing the approach to emissions control. The adoption of CleanSYS has led to a remarkable reduction in illegal air pollutant emissions, driving a substantial decrease of 266% in air pollutant emission per chimney since 2011.
