A group of six selected Austrian startups visited South Korea during the first week of September as part of the GO SEOUL program, which was jointly organized by ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA Seoul and the Global Incubator Network Austria (GIN) to connect the participating startups with the Korean startup ecosystem.

In customized workshops, the participants received valuable information on Korean business culture and the local startup ecosystem. Equipped with this knowledge, numerous individual B2B meetings were held over the course of the week, which were organized and accompanied by the team from the Seoul Foreign Trade Center. The participating companies were given the opportunity to make numerous contacts with potential partners and customers, get in touch with Korean tech giants and present themselves to potential investors. At the highlight of the week, the “Austrian Startup Night” networking event, over 70 participants from both startup ecosystems came together to network and exchange ideas in a relaxed atmosphere.

As a special guest, the Vice President of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, Ms. Amelie Gross, accompanied the program. Thanks to the high-ranking support, the foundation for closer future cooperation with important partners in the Korean startup ecosystem was laid. In addition to the Korea International Trade Association (KITA), the largest business organization in South Korea, the organizations Hyundai Zer01ne, Startup Alliance and the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) were visited to discuss opportunities for Austrian startups as well as established companies.
