ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA AT THE KOREAN SHIPBUILDING FAIR KORMARINE 2021

listen

The South Korean corporate giant Hyundai Heavy Industries is the world's biggest shipbuilding company. Also Samsung Heavy Industries and Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering are involved in the sector, manufacturing not only freighters and tankers, but also being active in the fields of marine equipment, engines and machines as well as electrical and electronic systems. With these three companies, South Korea is one of the top three shipbuilding nations in the world. Although Austria is not known exactly as a seafaring nation, there are numerous Austrian companies which supply for the important Korean shipbuilding players: from drive train solutions to the most modern telecommunications systems. That is why, despite the difficult travel conditions, AUSSENWIRTSCHAFT AUSTRIA was also represented at this year's shipbuilding and marine fair KORMARINE in the port city of Busan with a national pavilion- financed as part of "go international" program. The four-day trade fair ended successfully on October 22, 2021.
