Visit to Engel Korea
Last week, the Austrian Trade Commissioner Wolfgang Köstinger and Austrian Ambassador Wolfgang Angerholzer, paid a visit to the Engel Machinery subsidiary in South Korea. The visit also included a meeting with Mr. Robert Bodingbauer and Mr. Willmeroth Gero, both CEO of Engel Machinery Korea, to discuss the continuing growth of Engel in South Korea.
Engel is an Austrian manufacturer of plastic and rubber injection moulding machines, who is operating worldwide. In 1997, Engel became the first foreign company to invest in Korea through the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency.
The Engel subsidiary in Gyeonggi-do was founded in 2000 and produces mainly small to medium-sized machines. Engel Machinery Korea Ltd. currently employs about 200 people and increases its product range and growth in sales volume almost every year. Furthermore, Engel Machinery Korea is the 2nd largest exporter of Engel injection in the world with 1.357 shipments per year.
