On 15 October 2021, the „Grün Book”, a publication by the Singaporean-German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (SGC) with contributions by Advantage Austria, was presented to Desmond Tan, Minister of State for Sustainability and Environment. This hand over took place during the German-Singapore Plastic Recycling Forum, a hybrid event which was supported by Advantage Austria with 200 participants, including Austrian companies.
During the forum, Mr. David Bachmann, the Austrian Commercial Counsellor in Singapore, took the opportunity to interview Mr. Wim Roels, outgoing CEO of Borouge about the future possibilities for Austrian companies in Singapore’s approach to recycling waste management, the importance of circular economy, the biggest differences between plastic recycling processes in Europe and Asia and the challenges companies like Borouge are facing in Asia.
