ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA Almaty is awarding the Silk Road Biz Award for outstanding business performance of Austrian companies in Central Asia already for the fifth time. "With the award, we would like to bring the often unknown success stories of Austrian companies onto the red carpet and into the media spotlight", says Clemens Machal, the Austrian Trade Commissioner in Almaty. The Austrian successes stories in the five Central Asian countries Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan are intended to spur further Austrian companies to focus on this growth region. An ideal way to start is to participate in a trade mission.
Applications will be accepted until December 31st, 2022.

"To be nominated, the success story has to be spectacular, outstanding and innovative", says Clemens Machal.
This year's award winners are from Tyrol and Vienna
The Silk Road Biz Award 2022 winners were companies from Tyrol and Vienna. MED-EL reached the peak of its market activities in Uzbekistan to date: more than 500 children were able to receive cochlear implants during surgical interventions, enabling them to hear. VCE Vienna Consulting Engineers ZT was commissioned by the Ministry of Transport of Turkmenistan with the planning, consulting and quality control for the 600-kilometer motorway project from Ashgabat to Turkmenabat.
