The MedAustron Cancer Treatment and Research Centre is unique in Austria and one of only six comparable centres worldwide. MedAustron operates as an independent outpatient clinic and are networked with domestic and international clinics, universities and research institutes.
In addition to treating patients with particle therapy and using the facility for research projects, another focus is the provision of high-quality installations of modern ion therapy equipment.
Organised as a limited liability company, MedAustron is indirectly owned by the province of Lower Austria.

Small particles - big impact!
MedAustron offers know-how in the field of an evolutionary, individualized particle therapy system for low-side-effect cancer therapy and forward-looking research; a smaller compact system for existing radiation therapy rooms is currently under development.
In addition, the MedAustron Cancer Treatment Centre provides all services of a total contractor including radiation protection, medical device manufacturing and operation.
