KEY FINDINGS OF THE AUSTRIAN BUSINESS BAROMETER SURVEY
United Arab Emirates 2023 – Outlook 2024
Summary of the feedback provided by Austrian subsidiaries and members of the Austrian Business Council in the UAE:
- 2023 brought improved business climate according to 71 % of the respondents;
- Business climate outlook for 2024 remains positive – 50 % expect further improvements;
- 82 % of respondents expect a rise in the order intake and 29 % plan to increase their investments;
- Excellent infrastructure a high rate of digitization as well as the stable political and economic environment and the high purchasing power were considered as positive factors contributing to these results;
- Access to credit and capital markets, a lack of public incentives and poor payment practices remain the major challenges;
- 28 % of respondents expect an increased demand for products and services based on artificial intelligence (AI);
- Increased protectionism, continued friction between the economic systems of the East and West (in particular China and the US) as well as the Russia-Ukraine war were the major risk factors in 2023.
