The Austrian Trade Commission in Sydney was founded in 1953 and has been a bridge of bilateral economic relations between Austria and Australia ever since.

More than 150 government and business representatives gathered at the event, jointly organised with Business Sydney, a key partner in our work, to honour the 70th anniversary of our presence in Australia, but more importantly to celebrate the main objective of our work, the success of Austrian businesses.

We were pleased to be joined by NSW Minister for Industry and Trade, the Hon Anoulack Chanthivong MP, who also addressed the importance of international trade

We would like extend our thanks to Miles Wilson, Managing Director of Red Bull Australia, Jutta Rieger, Managing Director of Anton Paar Australia, and Robyn Shakes, Managing Director of Med-El Australasia, for sharing their expertise in an engaging panel discussion moderated by Besa Deda, Chief Economist of Westpac's Business Bank.

Another highlight of the event was the official handover of Austrian Trade Commissioner Karl Hartleb to his successor Ulrike Straka, who will continue to successfully promote trade between the two countries.

Our thanks goes to everyone who participated, engaged and made the event a great success.
