Both, Australia and Austria have the political will to achieve climate neutrality, while the strength of both countries could complement each other. In addition, Australia’s newest “A Future Made in Australia” initiative comes with a budget of AUD 23 billion, aiming to promote investments and growth of industries such as renewable hydrogen, green metals, batteries, and critical minerals processing, by leveraging Australia’s world-class resources and vast renewable energy assets. This also creates opportunities for Austrian tech providers within the renewable energy sector, especially in the hydropower and solar sectors. Despite outlining business opportunities in those sectors, especially in Queensland, the roundtable also focused on Austria’s clean energy technologies with chances all over Australia.
