Austria at Food Expo Pro 2023 in Hong Kong

SEVEN Austrian Food and beverage suppliers looking for partners and distributors for Hong Kong.

ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA Hong Kong hosted an Austrian booth at the b2b food and beverage show Food Expo PRO 2023 from 17th -19th August. Visitors were be able to get info about Austrian food and beverage suppliers and their product portfolios and were able to taste the products of seven featured Austrian companies.   

Featured Austrian Suppliers: 

Beeresso
Beeresso is a novel Austrian beer specialty created by Norbert Peczelt. It fuses a light lager beer with a strong aromatic espresso to create the “energybeer”. The company uses 100% natural ingredients  - water, hops, malt - and real coffee. 

Fernet Hunter
Invented by Raphael Holzer and Neville Kotewall in Hong Kong, Fernet Hunter is a new take on a traditional Italian beverage. Botanicals such as Arnica, Orrisroot and Lavender, which grow in and around the Austrian forest Brunnwald, are crafted into an aromatic bitter with a finetuned flavour character. In the newest product, Fernet Hunter Granit, elements like camomile are added to add aromatic complexity to the beverage, which is best consumed cold with soda, tea or in cocktails. 

Grander Water
According to Johann Grander, revitalized water tastes like fresh from the spring. It keeps food longer fresh and enhances the natural flavors of food & beverages. Grander Water offers water solutions for households, hotels and restaurants, wellness and swimming, industrial applications and more. Their technology revitalizes water with the intent of enhancing its natural characteristics, purifying the water’s flavour and promoting healthier living. They sell assorted items associated with their water revitalization technology, such as revitalized water bottles and their water revitalization devices. 

Handl Tyrol
HANDL TYROL is an Austrian family business based in Pians/Tyrol, specialising in producing original specialities of Tiroler Speck PGI, ham, raw sausages and snacking sausages. HANDL TYROL is an important ambassador for Tyrolean specialities and Tyrolean cuisine. The newest edition in their portfolio are 100% plant-based Veggie snacks. 

Rauch
Rauch has become since its founding in 1919 one of Europe’s leading fruit juice producers. Their Happy Day range covers everything from classics such as orange or apple to European specialties such as strawberries or rhubarb. The still family-owned business also has exotic species such as mango, pineapple and pink guava juices and  teas and isotonic sports on offer.   

Staud’s
Based in Vienna, Staud’s has been for over 50 years a producer of delicate jams, fruit preserves, candied fruits as well as several different sour preserves. Staud’s focuses on deliberate simplicity, which guarantees consistently high quality. Staud’s products are sold in different packaging sizes to consumers and to the hotel and restaurant sector.

Weingut Paul
Vineyard Paul is a long-standing Austrian winery and “Heuriger” with many prized wines. Alex Paul is one of Austria’s most dynamic young wine makers and produces classic white wines such as Grüner Veltliner and Chardonnay and red wines like Zweigelt and Merlot. In as second more exclusive product line, the vinery focuses on Austria’s signature grapes Gruner Veltliner and sparkling red wines.

The Austria booth at the FoodExpoPro was also a great opportunity for food and beverage buyers to inform themselves about the b2b matchmaking event MarketPlace Food and Beverage  on October 4, 2023 which can be attended online or in person. Selected buyers travelling to Austria for the event can benefit from travel and accommodation cost subsidies, criteria apply.
