The Institute of the Regions of Europe (IRE) has found great success in promoting regions and municipalities throughout Europe, and will be hosting the Salzburg Europe Summit with a view to providing this initiative with a platform and creating a forum for discussion and exchanges of ideas. When this year’s summit takes place, it will be the 19th time that the event has been held.
Prominent personalities from the worlds of science, politics, diplomacy and business will be discussing the following topics in 6 dialogue events:
- The Western Balkans as a region of the future
- The reconstruction of Ukraine – when and how?
- Debts of Europe: do we need a new Maastricht?
- Re-industrialising Europe and climate protection
- Energy and raw materials: what lies behind high prices?
- Regionalism is not a contradiction of globalisation
There will also be a forum on the topic of sustainable and innovative construction culture. The ‘New European Bauhaus’ is a real-world implementation of the EU’s Green Deal on locations in regions and cities. Concepts, methods and solutions are to be presented in the forum, creating a space for an exchange of ideas.
Each discussion panel will be preceded by a keynote presentation for debate.
The conference languages will be German and English.
The entire summit will also be broadcast as a livestream in German, English and Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian.
All further information about the conference, including the programme and forms for registration and hotel reservations, is available on the Salzburg Europe Summit 2023 website.
