Education is valuable, in the literal sense. Living proof is the Viennese company GoStudent, which recently achieved a valuation of over 1.4 billion euros and thus received unicorn status. This makes GoStudent the most valuable start-up currently in Austria.
GoStudent is a platform for online tutoring that was founded as a start-up by Felix Ohswald (26 years old) and Gregor Müller (27 years old) in Vienna in 2016. Go Student provides tutoring lessons via video conversation. By now, GoStudent has developed into the largest online marketplace for tutors. More than 400,000 tutoring hours are booked monthly via the platform. Currently, the start-up has more than 500 employees at 12 locations worldwide. By the end of 2021, the GoStudent team expects to grow to more than 1,000 employees and 10,000 teachers.
Among other investors, DST Global and Tencent participated in the third financing round for GoStudent.
