Sino-Austrian Joint Venture in Water Technology

In June 2021, the launching ceremony for BWT-Haier drinking water technology smart plant (phase I) was held in Qingdao International Economic Cooperation Zone. The smart plant is part of a strategic Joint Venture, which was founded by BWT and Haier in 2019.

Combining the advantages of both enterprises in water purifying technology, products, networks, logistics and services, BWT and Haier aim to provide the Chinese people with safe, healthy and tasty water. Innovative, sustainable, resource-friendly - BWT’s world leading know-how in the development and production of water treatment products ensures modern technological solutions with patented systems as well as high quality based on European standards.

The smart plant in Qingdao is the first water equipment factory worldwide with constant temperature, humidity and cleanness. It will provide Chinese customers with products and solutions including UTS RO, prefilter, softener, and multimedia filter to fit various scenarios such as private households and industry. After the completion of the smart plant, the annual production capacity will reach 1.28 million unit. Not only the local people but also people from Southeast Asia and Europe will benefit from the high quality services.
