In cooperation with GIN (Global Incubator Network) Austria, ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA Shanghai organized a new edition of the GoShanghai Accelerator Program from October 9 to 14 after a five-year break with a total of 7 Austrian deep-tech startups.
The delegation consisted of 7 innovative high-tech startups from the fields of energy, AI, software and mobility, which explored market opportunities during the trip to Shanghai:
The one-week stay began with an intensive onboarding, during which the startups were first familiarized with the Chinese startup ecosystem and introduced to the legal framework for market entry. Consul (Commercial Affairs) Christian Fuchssteiner gave an overview of the current economic situation in China, while Vice Consul (Commercial Affairs) Alexandra Runge highlighted the particularities of market development and intercultural management.
On the second day, the companies participated in the consumer electronics trade show TechG, where they were able to showcase their products to potential customers. The third and fourth days took the delegation to Shanghai's most important high-tech park, Zhangjiang Science City, where they visited technology giants such as Microsoft, Baidu AI, Lenovo, and China's largest software park, Pudong Software Park. The delegation also visited two incubators in Zhangjiang Science City and exchanged ideas with start-ups based there. In addition, Dr. Hao Luo, Technology officer of ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA Shanghai, organized customized B2B meetings and roundtable discussions with potential partners. On the last day, the delegation visited the leading innovator in the energy sector, Envision Group, where the start-ups presented themselves to the R&D and investment team of Envision Group.
The program was rounded off by the "Austrian Pitch Night 2024", where the 7 participating companies were able to present their innovative products to potential investors and partners from China.
