Austria – a leader in organic farming

Over the past years, the Austrian food sector has been able to establish itself on the international market thanks to natural production methods and innovative products. High quality raw materials from organic farming are an important ingredient for this success. Austria is on the forefront of organic farming and the number one organic country, when measured by the proportion of cultivable land for organic products. More than 20,000 farms operate organically in Austria, more than every fifth Austrian farmer is an organic farmer and every fourth hectare of arable land is cultivated according to organic guidelines.

Whether traditional family companies or new start-ups, there are many companies in Austria which have proven themselves on the global markets with their products and services. If you want to know more about Austrian food and drink producers contact copenhagen@advantageaustria.org
