The Austrian Export Prizes for 2021 were awarded on 29 June as part of Exporters’ Nite, a prestigious evening event that shines an annual spotlight on Austria’s top exporters. The Export Prizes honour the exceptional involvement and success achieved by Austrian entrepreneurs on international markets.
The awards are made on the basis of recent years’ export figures in a range of categories, and if a company has carved out a strong niche for itself on the world’s markets, it will also be in the running for the Global Player Award, while the Expat Award is presented to an individual for services to Austria’s foreign trade.
The Global EcoVision Award goes to companies that have made a contribution to environmental conservation and/or climate protection.

binderholz has won the Global EcoVision Award for its ‘INTRO Project in Cleveland’. The binderholz brand-name harks back to the Binder family who founded it as a reliable one-stop provider for everything relating to lumber, and some 3,000 staff produce top-quality wood solutions at its 14 production facilities in Austria, Germany, Finland and the USA. An innovative timber construction project of great ecological value is due to be delivered in Ohio over the next two years with the completion of a 9-storey apartment building in Cleveland at a cost of EUR 130 million. It will be the largest solid wood edifice in the USA, requiring 5,650m³ of binderholz’s BBS laminate and 1,500m³ of the company’s cross-laminated timber, sourced from sustainable forestry.
