Uzbekistan, a country with almost 33 million inhabitants, large reserves of raw materials and a fast growing economy, is currently one of the most emerging and attractive markets in the world. The Uzbek economy is annually growing by 6 percentage points, supported by extensive market reforms to remove production bottlenecks and to liberalize the economy.
Advantage Austria Almaty organized a business mission from 8 to 12 November 2021 to Tashkent and Andijan with a record participation of over 25 companies with over 50 business representatives. Austrian companies were welcomed with great interest and enthusiasm by local authorities and businesses in the capital city of Tashkent and the regional and cultural hub Andijan.
The economic mission was also accompanied by a delegation from the Austrian Federal Ministry for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs, headed by Foreign Minister Michael Linhart.
The aim of the economic mission was to network with potential business partners, authorities and industry specialists. Advantage Austria Almaty organized over 300 personal B2B meetings with Uzbek companies to present the business potential of Austrian enterprises. During the networking events, the participating Austrian companies were able to get an idea of the trends and current market developments in their industry sectors.
