Adhering to the COVID-19 restrictions, the wine tasting was held on October 23, 2020 in the beautiful big halls of the Royal Automobile Club of Sydney. Physically distanced seating arrangements, individual cheese platters and restricting movement while holding alcoholic drinks did not get in the way of our patrons enjoying new and enticing wine variations and discussing with each other the merits of various Austrian wine regions.
We were pleased by the great turnout and the positive reception this event received. After most trade shows in Australia were cancelled this year, our guests commented on how much they enjoyed being able to socialize with their peers again. Especially the buyers from Pinnacle Drinks, Aldi and Negociants praised this unique opportunity to try a range of exquisite and uncommon wines. Many took samples home and have since requested further bottles, and we are looking forward to seeing more Austrian on shelves all over Australia next year.
