Equipment manufacturer Liebherr has closed the biggest contract in its company history with its Australian partner Fortescue. The deal, valued at approx. 2.5 Billion EUR, contains the joint development of 475 Liebherr machines to be used by Fortescue. A significant proportion of the delivery, 60 battery-powered bulldozers, will produced at the company’s plant in Telfs, Tirol. The machines will predominately be used for transporting different materials, such as debris, soil, and raw materials, in both the building and mining industry. The goal of Liebherr and Fortescue is to become the pioneer providers of locally emission-free and autonomous machines in the mining market.
