A delegation of Hong Kong companies from the construction and green technology sectors recently visited Vienna to participate in the Build N Green Conference, marking an important step in strengthening collaboration between the innovation ecosystems of Hong Kong and Austria.
Led by Yvonne Choi, the delegation brought together nine representatives from Hong Kong-based companies for a series of targeted B2B meetings with Austrian partners. A key focus of the visit was to establish connections with Austria’s “Hidden Champions” — highly innovative, globally competitive small and medium-sized enterprises that play a critical role in driving technological advancement.
The programme also featured curated company visits to leading Austrian organizations, including Urban Innovation Vienna, PlanRadar, Rubner Group, and STRABAG. These visits provided the delegation with valuable first-hand insights into Austria’s cutting-edge expertise in sustainable construction, digital solutions, and smart city development.
The initiative created meaningful opportunities for Hong Kong companies to explore new business partnerships and expand their presence in European markets. At the same time, Austrian companies benefited from direct engagement with Hong Kong’s dynamic business environment, opening pathways to scale their solutions and access international markets in Asia.
Overall, the visit represents a significant step forward in fostering cross-border collaboration, promoting innovation, and building long-term partnerships between Hong Kong and Austria in the construction and green technology sectors.
Looking ahead, the next key milestone will be the Construction event at RETHINK Hong Kong, scheduled for September 2026. The event offers Austrian companies an excellent platform to enter and expand within the Hong Kong and Macau markets.
