Austria at the China Housing Expo 2025 in Beijing

Austrian showcases Green Building Innovations at the 22nd China Housing Expo.

From November 6 to 9, 2025, the 22nd China International Housing Industry and Building Industrialization Expo (China Housing Expo, CIEHP) was held at the Shougang International Convention and Exhibition Center in Beijing. This year’s Expo was themed “Sharing Innovation, Building the Future Together – Creating a New Ecosystem for Open and Collaborative Industrial Cooperation.” 

The Austrian Commercial Section in Beijing led a delegation of five Austrian companies to participate in the Expo, presenting cutting-edge technologies and solutions in green building and industrialized construction. As one of the most influential professional events in China’s construction sector, the Expo provided an excellent platform for Austrian enterprises to showcase their expertise and foster new partnerships. 

The Austrian pavilion featured five leading companies, with representatives from three of them attending in person. Their exhibits included:

  • Innovative connection systems for timber structures
  • High-performance furniture hardware components
  • Eco-friendly indoor and outdoor paints and coatings
  • Advanced wooden dowel fastening technologie
  • Efficient machinery for concrete and precast component production

These products reflect Austria’s strong capabilities in high-quality building materials and sustainable construction technologies, opening new avenues for Sino-Austrian cooperation in the green building sector. The following 5 companies were present: 

Adler-Werk Lackfabrik Johann Berghofer GmbH & Co KG

ADLER has about 730 employees and is Europe's leading manufacturer of furniture paint, outdoor weathering paint, solid wood door & window paint, and other special coatings. ADLER was founded by Mr. Johann Berghofer in Schwarz, Austria in 1934 and is now managed by the third-generation, Ms. Andrea Berghofer. 22,000 tons of paint leave the Schwarz factory in Austria and are shipped to over 30 countries around the world every year. ADLER has sales companies in Germany, Italy, Poland, the Netherlands, Switzerland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, and runs the most modern water-based paint factory in Europe.  

ERICH PETER MACHINES-PLANTS GMBH

For more than 30 years, ERICH PETER MACHINES-PLANTS GMBH has been engaged in the sale of equipment, machines and plants for the production of building materials, concrete and prefabricated elements. Initially this only involved new machines, but 15 years ago good quality used machines began to be sold as well. ERICH PETER's customers include big players with up to 20 sites. The aim is to ensure that the machines and plants supplied meet the real needs of the customer, because customer satisfaction generates a high level of motivation for long-term business relationships. ERICH PETER has developed its own technology for affordable housing called "C-MODULE AUSTRIA" and supplies new machines and components made in Europe. 

Julius Blum GmbH

Julius Blum GmbH is an international company specializing in the production of furniture fittings and accessories. Founded in 1952 in Höchst, Vorarlberg, Austria, its main products include hinges, drawers, runners, lift systems, and pocket door systems. Blum has eight factories in Vorarlberg, Austria, and also operates production facilities in Poland, Brazil, the USA, and China. It has 34 subsidiaries and representative offices worldwide, selling its products in over 120 markets. In the 2024/2025 fiscal year, the group's sales reached €2.441 billion. Blum entered the Chinese market in 2002, with its headquarters in Shanghai and seven branches in Beijing, Guangzhou, Nanjing, Chengdu, Ningbo, Qingdao, and Hong Kong. Jointly organized by the Center of Science and Technology and Industrialization Development of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, the China Real Estate Association, and the China Building Culture Center, the Expo attracted over 30,000 visitors and more than 200 exhibitors from China and abroad, highlighting the vibrant momentum of innovation and green transformation in the construction industry.
