In a move that benefits Austrian companies operating in Hong Kong, the Chinese Visa Application Service Center in Hong Kong now allows foreign staff of Hong Kong-registered companies to apply for "northbound" multiple-entry visas to the Mainland for two years or more with priority processing. This new policy includes Hong Kong permanent residents of non-Chinese nationality, who may apply for multiple-entry visas to the Mainland with a validity period of up to five years.
Interested applicants simply need to fill out the visa request form online and visit the Visa Application Service Center located in Wan Chai to finalize their submission. Once their application is submitted, applicants can collect their visas as early as the very next day. By providing proof of employment in Hong Kong, such as a staff ID card, foreign workers can enjoy priority processing.
The eligible visa types include M (business visa), L (tourist visa), C (crew visa), and Q2/S2 (family visit for less than 180 days). This measure highlights the unique status of Hong Kong and provides greater convenience for Austrian companies to send their staff on business trips to the Mainland.
