It is the combination of what is deeply-rooted and an openess to new things, of the traditional and the experimental, that defines Anton Bauer. From the very beginning, the winemaker has thought and acted in a visionary way. That is why, in addition to such Wagram classics as Grüner Veltliner, Roter Veltliner and Riesling, he focused on red wines early on, a decision greeted with much scepticism at the time.
Today, his Pinot Noir, his Cabernet Sauvignon and his legendary "Cuvée Anton Bauer Privat" are among the top red wines in the country. Anton Bauer also plays in the same league with his white wines with their varietal and regional typicity. Rosenberg, Spiegel and Gmirk are the names of his best single vineyards, enabling him to create "wines with soul" year after year.
