Helmut Lang KG

For three generations, the Helmut Lang winery has been cultivating some 18 hectares in Illmitz, in the heart of Seewinkel in the Lake Neusiedl winegrowing region. The microclimate of Seewinkel with its areas of pure sandy soils create the best conditions for viticulture in this region. They make it possible to create speciality Prädikat wines that are among the best in the world. Of the many different wines grown in Burgenland, these Prädikat wines have remained the winery's focus for a good 65 years.

In addition to sweet wines, Helmut Lang grows both white and red wines. All wines are fermented spontaneously. As a result, the wines are a direct and honest reflection of the work undertaken in the vineyard, the unique climate and the soil of the Pannonian Plain. Weeds in the vineyard are only controlled physically, which means that no herbicides or glyphosate are used. The majority of the grapes are harvested by hand and the foliage is managed on the vine.
