The first day of the trade mission began with presentations by experts in the field, including representatives of the World Bank, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, and the Klick Foundation. These were accompanied by insights into Austrian success stories and opportunities in Thailand. The program continued with a pitching session for the Austrian companies to introduce themselves to Thai stakeholders, followed by strategic B2B matchmaking to identify promising partnerships and valuable networking opportunities with key industry players in Thailand.
On the second day, the delegation gained a deeper understanding of Bangkok’s waste and water management systems through on-site visits to major facilities, including the Bangsue Wastewater Treatment Plant, the Onnut Waste Sorting Plant, and the Suvarnabhumi Recycling Center operated by Wongpanit. The schedule also included high-level meetings with government officials, including the Governor of Bangkok, Chadchart Sittipunt.
The last day of the trade mission started with a visit to the Environmental and Waste Management Expo, an event that brings together 100+ companies and leading organizations from Thailand and across Asia. Finally, the trade mission concluded with a visit to the Bangpoo Industrial Estate, a key hub for manufacturing and industrial development in Bangkok, offering participants a close look into its wastewater treatment activities.
All in all, the event demonstrated great potential for cooperation between Austrian and Thai businesses in the waste and wastewater management sector. We as Advantage Austria Thailand look forward to fostering these partnerships and driving sustainable solutions for a greener future!
